My bus is a 71 so it came with factory disc brakes. Heres what I did to lower my bus.
I got a WagonsWest 4 inch adjustable beam, WW drop spindles and narrowed tie rods for the front. It is adusted in the middle setting so I can go up about 4 inches and down about 4 more inches.
Now in the rear, I used the WW 3.25 horse shoe plates. When I put the plates on, it wasn't as low as I wanted it. After some reasearch, I found the last owner had adjusted the spring plates to raise the rear because it was "saging". So I readjusted them back down 1 noch. The Fuchs are Empi reproductions and are a direct bolt on the 71 bolt pattern.
Now keep in mind, You are lowering a Bus that is 40+ yrs old. While doing it I also found I had to replace the ball joints, tie rod ends, brake master cylinder, parking brake cables, rear brakes, backing plates, wheel cylinders, brake hoses, ect. The price of these items adds up.
If you take your time and do it right, be sure you do an alignment afterward, It rides real close to stock, with no rubbing or bottoming out issues.
Good luck and have fun,
The Duke
